It’s called paternity leave
I know if you are working for your employer for at least 12 months, you are covered by the FMLA (family medical leave act) which means that you can take up to 12 weeks off of work and be guaranteed to have your job back when you return. It’s not paid, unless you have that much paid leave saved up.
