Well right now im on maternity leave..but going to back to work after the six weeks?
my doctor said i could return after 6 weeks of course and i took two weeks off before my due date because my blood pressure shot up . Induced at 39 weeks and I know you can have up to 12 weeks in a year for fmla. So would it be possible to stay home another four weeks after the post 6 week without my doctors consent.
It depends on your employer. I work for a fortune 500 complany and I had fmla which was 12 weeks plus they offer baby bonding which is another 12 weeks that I have to use at anytime during the first year of my babies birth. I used all of my fmla prior to my baby being born. Now I am using my baby bonding. I took the first 6 weeks now which is my baby bonding and then i have up until her first birthday to use the remaining 6 weeks. Baby bonding, of course, is unpaid; however, my job is protected and guaranteed to be waiting for me to return.
I would talk to your employer to see what options they have available for you.
