Maternity leave?? Employer firing me?
I work in Ohio and my work has less than 50 employees. I had a baby at 32 weeks and the dr. has informed us that the baby isn’t able to attend day care until april. I would be off 16-18 weeks. I work at the day care and they have decided that they are not going to let me go because of the time period I require off. Is there anything that can be done about this or am I just going to get the raw end of a deal. Please help and any advice would be greatly appreciated.
I’m a little confused because of this part:
“I work at the day care and they have decided that they are not going to let me go because of the time period I require off.”
If not because of the time, why are you getting fired? If it’s because of the time, you need to consult the Family and Medical Leave Act. Are you a full-time employee? Or just temporary/part-time/seasonal?
