what do i do about drug and dental benefits after i go on mat leave?
ok so i was wondering if you get laid off from work and then go on maternity leave, what can you do for benefits such as dental and prescription and stuff. Cuz if you get laid off, ur officially off your employers payroll as off ur last paydate. anyone with information that will help me is appreciate. by the way i live in ontario if that helps. thanx
In the US you can get COBRA which means that you can stay on your insurance policy with your former employer. I think you can be on COBRA for a year or 18 months. You have to pay for it yourself though and it will cost more than what you might have been paying when you were employed. I don’t know if there is anything like that in Canada. You might ask the HR department at your former employer.
