Maternity leave??
For the duration your are on maternity leave do you still get Medical benefits like you normally would if you were still at your job????

This may vary by province but they have to pay for your medical benefits and union dues while you are on maternity and parental leave.
This is for Ontario:
“While an employee is on pregnancy or parental leave, the employer must continue to pay its share of the premiums to certain benefit plans (i.e., pension plans, life and extended health insurance plans, accidental death plans and dental plans) that were offered before the leave.”

So I would imagine you have to pay your part as well.
