About Calif. employment law?
At work I have been offered a diffrent position with the same pay. Would have to work a split shift and wages frozen for two years. I asked if I don’t take this position would I be laid off. No was the response to come back at them with. We were also informed that we couldn’t collect unemployment because I didn’t take what was offered & it would be consitered a volenteer quit. Do I have any recourse? Serious answers from persons in Calif. who know the labor law. I want to know what recourse I may have. The position I now have is being phased out completaly. I don’t think it ’s right . Feel like i’m being forced to take the position with the same pay and much more responsabilty. Can anyone offer assistance. Thanks Byrd
No..they have the right to move you to a different position if they are restructoring the business. They do not have to pay you more. and no you could not collect unemployement if you quit for no good reason. Why not just take the position and look for another job..and then quit.
You are pretty much stuck..You need to remember.. there are alot of people who are unemployed and you shouldn’t take a pay check for granted. Be grateful for work.
