Many employees will only get paid sick pay at the discretion of their employers - regardless of the nature of the illness.  Most employees have a right to receive Statutory Sick pay after they&#039;ve been off 4 days, but that is only £75 approx per week for a maximum of 26 weeks.  

Some employers will not pay sick pay if the employee goes on sick leave having been asked to attend a disciplinary meeting shortly beforehand. Again, you need to see what your contract of employment says.</description>
